fargo L-700 at home

That's a cool truck, I'm looking forward to whatever the outcome is. (You should extend it and make it a Toter home since you plan on pulling a fifth wheel. That would help with weight!)
 
Thanks,well once i get the motor/ trans/rear end ill see what i will do, have to get everything i dont need out first and start to do some measuring.

there is a place in quebec that has tons of old cab over's GMCs/INTERNATIONALS/FORD's all mostly fire trucks and in really good shape they just crush them for weight. i am Glad i saved the fargo from that fate!

Hi Bruce, my cousin is trying to sell his fifthweel and TopKick that got a "Caterpillar" in it. Maybe you can find a whole TopKick and fit the Fargo cab on it?

Your L700 is very similar to a 69 L600 I had years ago. That old 318 was screaming on the freeway...

Would you part with the old 361 Valve covers? I'd be interested if the price is right as I use old Mopar valve covers to make into display case lighted tops and even lamp shades for the man-cave and shop of mine..... Let me know!

Hey, sorry you could of had them for free but I gave the motor away to a guy who wanted it. Do you have a pic of the ones you make?

Bruce, Thanks! SHIT LOL Go figure..... I have a few on the back burner right now, Got one thats finished, BUT if you go to the "Hobbies" area here, you can see them in my "other Hobbies" thread..... Here's a link to it:

NOT yet in "light form" BUT because of an accident I was in, kinda on the back burner till later in the year/winter, (Good winter projects, in-doors) so.....
 
One way to preserve them for other uses but still keep there factory looks for things, a lights of hooded lights for display cases. That rusty ole slant 6 valve cover you seen has been restored by me and will be the top of a wooden model car display case I have planned. (I painted it to match a car my grandfather had, that will be adorned by emblems off the actual car he had!!!!!)

The display case tho will have 3/8th thick Lexan shelving to have the light shine down through from being mounted (the light fixture) to the inside of the valve cover to the baffle plates.
 
It looks like the side glass is flat. If it is you could make a cardboard pattern and have any good glass shop make one out of laminated safety glass. many older vehicles came that way factory.
