Hey all. I have a 75 W100 that I've had for almost 22 years. It is in rough shape. I's my fault. I have not taken care like I should. I wish I had more pics but this is the bastard brother to my 71 Dart. Dart is as complete as it's getting for mow (they are never done) so I shall start on the DE DOG. Here are pics before I started tearing it apart. I just hope I keep up with this thread.
W100, short bed, 360, 2bbl, TF 727, NP203 full time. 3/4 axles from an International PU, 4" lift.

I'm in the same boat. Some kind of funk I haven't been able to shake. In order to work on my truck, I have to get my Dart on the road. I was going to swap the axle and springs today, but sat in the garage and piddled away on little things that amounted to nothing. I'm gonna try to lose that funk this week and start making progress. Want that truck on the road.

I got the axle loose today before work, going to take it and the springs out when I get home in the morning. If I follow my friends adage of "one bolt a day", I'm 9 days ahead!

I like that "one bolt a day" method lol . I got like what you guy's are going thru a while back . Always something to do but no time to do what you want and it felt like I was getting nothing done that I wanted . To me it was days wasted . Finally I said to myself . If I can get one thing done at a time ( Weather it be big or small ) then I'm going in the right direction and I don't feel like I'm just spinning my tires and not going anywhere .

I hope you keep up with this thread "Hemipar" . I will definitely be following it if you do .

For me it's just a matter of tearing it completely apart, after that I get motivated with the thoughts of bringing it back to it's original glory. Love the truck!

Unfortunately I have two projects going along with the housework. A 74 440 dart that just needs a few bugs worked out and a 87 w150 a friend basically gave to me with the front end off and a bed full of parts. At least I got a FSM with it to figure out what goes where, the engine runs great and the tranny is a new rebuilt. The w150 is around 80% right now but I lost power to the fuel pump and think it is the wire that goes between the pump and the engine compartment, having a real hard time getting motivated to get on my back for a few hours!

I have sat and stared at the floor for hours avoiding crawling on my back under a project, but once I do, I can pop under and out from said project 50 times to get the job done, and feel pumped up when it's done.

I understand completely but if I don't get up and move dam arthritis is going to lock me up for good.
The big problem is to may body parts have been frost bittem already.
It is supposed to get into the upper 40's tomorrow got to get moving again.

I crack my knuckles all the time so I have early arthritis. This year, my fingers have started to go numb after 20-30 minutes outside when super cold (0° or colder). I've been in the garage a few times and want to start cleaning up but can't due to frozen digits.

Sad thing is I built a shop to work in its got a wood stove in it. I have the wood to burn. But its filled with storage.
Did manage to clear a path from one end to the other last week but have still a long way to go.

Its like the er doctor asked us last summer while sewing the sons thumb back together. He told us you guys work and make a living with your hands how much more do you have to lose before you start taking care of them.

Totally understand . Every-time I get the garage cleaned up and organized , I start on something else and before you know it It's a mess again and I can't move around or find anything . That's normally when I yell for my wife and she come's out and finds what I've been looking for the past hour in about ten minutes . lol

As far as the arthritis thing , I've got it well but it's in my joints as well as quite a few other physical issue's and this time of year it's the worse . Sitting around because it's to darn cold outside reminds me of the pain I'm in and if I go outside to get something done I freeze my butt off . So what do yah do ?

Like 7mopar said, you keep moving. I have bad knees and they love the cold! 9 years ago they locked up on me and the 75 year old guy was running circles around me. That gave me some insight as to what is yet to come. Not being able to walk is not a good thing.

I have plenty of 75 years olds that keep telling me how much fun retirement is knowing I am not that farway from it.
Then the chiropractor keeps telling it is not going to get any better than it is now.
If dad was any indication of things to come I should have about 20 more years before things go completely to pots.
But the writing is on the wall we both will be cripples before its over.

lol In my case , sometimes that easier said then done . I've thought about bringing my engine hoist into the living room at times to help me get outa the chair . lol

"Honey, stop cooking dinner and help me put the pistons in!"

That's why I don't go to doctors over my knees and back, I know what they will tell me. Had a torn meniscus fixed a few years ago, and that's the knee I keep bashing at work and at home. When I work on a car I try to focus on that, so I forget I hurt. It works most of the time.
