I would start by testing the ASD relay and power supply to the relay when it acts up, somewhere you are losing power. Also look at the fusible links when it acts up
 
Got the manual today. Yep it says it OBD II but it doesn't have an OBD II test port. Glad I have a testor for it. Will be starting with PCM grounds and maybe a new ASD relay apparently it can be bad and still work.

It has been cool enough lately it has not shut down but I still need to find the problem.
 
Now if I could only find the right wiring diagram. Started to check ecu grounds when it was determined I have the wrong wiring diagram it does not match the factory diagnostic manual. Tried a search here and could not find any manuals. Did they not get moved from the old format? The Hays and Chilton manuals I have are of no use. Probably beyond their scope of understanding and left out of the manuals. Find them of absolutely no value if I have to take it to a repair center as they continually suggest. It was to cool here last week to get it to shut down. One week of flawless operation only to be fouled again by hot weather.
 
Have both power train manual and a Michael wiring diagram. Have traced an electrical open circuit down to the oxygen sensor not grounding at the ECM now to find the ground location.​
 
What I do when I have a heat soak problem is to get a few cans of brake cleaner. Then when it happens, I spray a few different points / components and see if it helps ( I soak the crap out of it ) if it helps, I start narrowing it down by spraying less components. If not, I choose other ones to spray next time.
The brake cleaner will cool off the components fast so it works to help find the problem and it's cheaper than just throwing parts at it.
