General Information

Okay, the long short.
Been looking for a pre '74 truck, Ford to be specific, Why pre '74? Smog crap of course. I'm from SoCal, South OC. And California is the "Big Daddy" of "Green." Old trucks here are at a premium, so I was looking to buy a daily driver, beat up truck from a landscape or construction guy or gal. On July 31st I found my truck, Didn't even know it was a Dodge! But why should I since I'm a Ford blue blood guy. Oops! I bought the truck within the hour from finding it on CL.

Thanks bratha. Man, dig your rigg and I'm damn serious about slammin a 72/74 D200 but a 6-8 inch lift on a W250 could be interesting, uuum? I'll be posting more current pics. soon.

(pic.1) My son and I broke down on Ortega Hwy, at one of the wort blind corners on the pass way. Vehicles zooming by dangerously close! My son took the pics, while I try to alert motorist to slow down, it's a two way highway 'zigzag' mountain road, lots of fatalities there. (pic.2) My son before our voyage. (pic.3) My boys, Willis (the big one) and Brutus (little fella). The rest is me being anal before taking off the chrome pieces.

Are you keeping the chrome?

Kinda Sucks! when you're the only fool with the Admin. and 10 thousand "robots" whatever the F@ck that means, on the forum. Lonely here on the "Left Coast." :inpain:

Hello to all stuck in "The Space Void". So today (Yesterday) for most of yoos, I had a ruff one.
1st. Found out that my truck would be in my buddy's shop give or take a month or so (Rehab.)
2nd. Lost a bet to my 'Mom inlaw', she's a dieheart Bears fan and if you watch the NFL, you'd know that my "Faiders" lost to'em. I had to drive her car for five day's and the same t-shirt as well (I think you'ii know which).

gonna post some random pics of today.

I'm replying to myself. Where's the "New pics of the day?" Well, for some reason, I can't even find 'upload' new pics.

Hello to all @ FTO.I just figured to add more photos.
1). First set of new photos is my buddy Stevo in his shop while we were talking about making 'Old Betty' street and freeway safe, and yes, it is a AAMCO! it;s been in my little beach town for over 40 years. Talk about working on a budget. There are things that I can not work on so I bring it to him and his "grease monkey's."
2). Just showing off my prize collection tool box, Kennedy baby!
3). My garage, which was supossed to be my Summer project, organising of course, never happened, I bought Betty. My wifes Range, "who cares", my wife's little project that I will be overseeing for a custom build '59 Nash Cosmo. convert. 4). What I had to drive for 5 day's, my missus mom's car.
5). Some crazy Vin #'s on my trim piece that shows code for original colour and vinyl. I tried searching it to no avail.
Just random pics.

Just added some more "Ramdon" photos of family events and 'What Not's'.
My avatar is my first "Pit" Willis. I rescued him at 7months from impound. R.I.P. He was a big boy! My little fella celebrating his 3rd bday, was rescued from a "Crack House" at 4 weeks young. My Lady and I in Santa Barbara, CA. this past September at a 'Ben Harper' concert. My oldest son with his wife and my grand-baby. Alek is in the Army, "Medic", station at Fort Hood, Texas... But now he's deployed in South Korea. He (my eldest) is 3rd Geneneration U.S. Army! My baby daughter with Willis at our home, at our local beach trails. Like I said, 'Random pics.'. Welcome to the Cattanach family!

Thanks for sharing "GW" . Cool family pic's . About your wife's Nash ? Cute lil thing . Maybe you can talk her into swapping a Mopar v8 in it ? lol Sorry to hear about Willis . He really did look like a big boy alright .

GW . The more I look at your truck the more I think it's worth doing . It's a darn solid truck and you have a few other things going for you as well . Such as the duel exhaust and the 8 3/4 rear end . That's a darn good rear ! Would be easy to swap gears if you ever needed or wanted to .

Thank's Bear. I just love her to death!
I've been trying to figure out the the rear end! 8 3/4 Cool! Later down the road, what gears you thinking, 373, 411? Do I have 355 now? It had a good punch on take-off. I just hope is not that low of a gearing.

Yeah, he was my boy and I miss him a lot! Weird how attached 'one get's' with their pets, but I never think of my dogs as pets, they are my family! She already wants it to be an Automatic. Was thinking about a turbo-4, Let's talk about this for a minute... Suggestion welcome! But must be realistic, it's her beach run-about, just needs MORE POWER!

Big animal lover here . They are family , not just pets . As far as your wife's Nash ? As far as I'm concerned , anything is possible if you put your mind to it . I've done quite a few engine swaps in my time . And always remember these words .. MORE POWER = "MO" POWER !

Yes , That's an 8 3/4 rear end . That's my favorite rear . I've got it down to having the center chunk swapped out in about 35 min's . Don't have a clue what you have in yours at the moment . More them likely something like 3:23's or 3:55'sYou can try looking in your door jam where the VIN is and see if it say's there . Or ( If It's still there ) You can look at the nuts holding your pumpkin in and there should be a little ID tag with the gear ratio stamped in it .

Thanx Bear, I'll check the ID once I have the truck.
And fosho MO-Power!!! Lol, That is great...

I though you had a build thread going but I couldn't find it . Last thing I remember you had gotten your truck back but had some issues with what they did . So is the truck running fine now ?

I just started a conversation with you. I GOT SCREWED! SCAAMCO adjusted my throtle kick down 3 times! Still ain't right. Adjusted my breaks 4 times, on the 3rd try, my calipers stucked to the rotors and it burnt all the way back to the shop.
I'll tell more when we talk.
