I am having difficulties finding anything in the pickup line with climate control.
Std. air should have nothing to the compressor if not in a/c or defrost mode.
Could be a broken control board in the switch it's self is the cause of the problem. But will keep looking. I have an auto manual or...
My pressure washer runs just fine. Can't say such for the pump that blow it's self apart last fall.
I found the books for it a few weeks ago. So maybe all is not lost. But it's going to need a replacement pump.
That may cause some drive line issues using the newer bell housing and transmission.
I have had bell housings modified to except different transmissions. But finding a machine shop willing to do it could present a problem.
Is this something you have had for awhile? Reason for asking is the mentioning of climate control. True climate control systems function differently of normal systems in that some don't really shut down.
Not sure a cheap Chilton type manual even gets into this.
Got the battery out of the Dodge today. If the ignition switch is not completely off it runs it down. Just one of the quarks of owning an old truck.
Batteries on the charger and will get put back in later today.
You say fresh paint. Grounding will not occur through paint. Maybe something to look at. Never paint the bellhousing mounting surface of an engine block or any grounding surfaces.
You might have to put everything back the way it was to regain that well running truck you no longer have. Or delete the computor all together and buy a non-computor carb. You can't simple unhook things from the computor without making it think things are lets say hunky-dorry.
